Two longtime customers of Wellsville’s independently owned hardware and lumber store are the recent lucky winners of two monthly customer drawings.
At the main sales counter at Fasset Lane Lumber are two boxes that any customer can enter to win, no purchase is necessary. Store owners Dan Peters and Butch Calcote have been holding both a Customer Appreciation and a Shop Local drawing each month as a way to give back and pay it forward.
This month, a customer who “has been walking through those doors for forty years,” was recently presented with the $100 prize. Don Cunningham can remember shopping at Fassett Lane as a teenager and still quite often decades later. The local handyman will be using the winnings to do a few home repairs and get buttoned up for winter.
Cunningham appreciated the reward for his loyalty but added that the best thing about shopping at Fassett Lane has been, “the great people and employers I’ve met along the journey.”
The other monthly drawing that Dan and Butch have been proud to offer has a great double impact. This drawing provides a gift certificate for the winner to go spend at another locally owned small business. Winners get a $50 credit at places like L’Italia or Giant Food Mart, keeping dollars in our local economy, a win-win!

Tom Layman, who works with an overhead door business was the lucky customer drawn this month and walked out the door with a great reason to visit Chelsea’s Catering and Confections in Wellsville. Chelsea’s is much more than a catering business with a bustling breakfast and lunch business located in the Municipal parking lot just off Main Street.
