Jones Memorial Hospital bids farewell to longtime Board Member “Sammy” Gilkey

As of October 2024, Jones Memorial bids farewell to a long standing member of the board of directors, Samantha Gilkey. Sammy Gilkey served on the JMH Board from May 2001 – April 2015 and then again from November 2017 until this October, 2024. During her tenure, Sammy has served as Chairman of the Board from 2006 – 2008, Vice Chair from 2013 – 2015 and Treasurer from 2009 – 2013. During this time Sammy was also a charter member of the Jones Memorial Hospital Foundation.  

Karol Marciano, Board Chair, stated “On behalf of the entire hospital board, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Samantha Gilkey for her exceptional service and dedication over the years.” She went on to state that “Her commitment and leadership, spanning multiple terms and various roles have been invaluable to our organization. As a founding member of the foundation board, her vision and hard work have laid a strong foundation for our continued success. Sammy’s contributions have profoundly impacted our hospital and the community we serve. Sammy is a cherished part of our hospital family and we wish her all the best.”

President and CEO, Jim Helms went on to express his gratitude saying, “I want to thank Sammy on behalf of the hospital for her years of exceptional leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our mission. Her vision and guidance as a member of our Board have been instrumental in driving transformative growth and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. We are also profoundly grateful for her ongoing contributions to the Jones Foundation Board, where her passion and advocacy will continue to strengthen our ability to serve our community,”
