After vandals destroyed a recent sculpture, Jones makes a point

A generous local artist who holds the Guinness World Record for carving the largest pumpkin ever, has been very good to Wellsville. His recent work has been displayed at the Fassett Greenspace(community garden) on Main Street, provding eye-candy for passing vehicles and pedestrians. Many have stopped for a “selfie” with the unique sculptures.
Just before Halloween, some rotten jerk or jerks pushed a forty pound sculpture off a display table and fatally cracked the pumpkin. The village was outraged, one mourner simply posted this picture to social media with the caption:
Assuming that was the end of the popular pumpkin artwork on display, volunteers picked up the pieces and apologized to the artist.
Jones was not bothered in the least, explaining that his artwork is temporary anyway and he is somewhat accustomed to vandals attacking his giant squash, or sand, or snow sculptures. He enjoyed making a point to his fans and the vandals that his work will continue undeterred.
Local media pro, Nick Davis, owner of Genesee Valley Media, just happened to be driving by while Jones was sculpting live on Main Street. “Wow it isn’t everyday that you see a celebrity artist doing his thing on Main Street Wellsville!!” Davis hung around and did a quick interview with Jones that you can find here on his Facebook page.
After about twenty minutes of carving Jones carefully placed the new addition to Main Street in the center of the community garden. One of the local “vagrants,” actually stopped to help Jones and promised to keep an eye on the new artwork.
