Wellsville has decided that incumbent Mayor Randy Shayler should serve a third term by a wide margin over a challenge by local businessman and activist Marshall Green.

The October 10 debate between the two candidates set the two apart for all in attendance. Green advocated for a village with altruistic ambitions, Shayler touted his record for running the village like a business. He had this to say about his re-election:

“I would like to thank the people of the Village of Wellsville for their continued confidence. Their trust is very important to me.  I look forward to working with the outstanding village employees, residents, and  elected officials to further enhance our village. We have accomplished a lot in the past few years, and together we can do even more.”
