Time to clean up Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville

Please remove unseasonal items before October 30

From the Cemetery Association,

WOODLAWN CEMETERY in Wellsville has been busy with its task of fall cleanup. We are requesting those who maintain loved one’s graves to remove all unseasonal items, dead plants, as well as broken unkept items from graves by October 30, 2024.  When emptying pots turn them over to avoid damage/breakage during freezing temperatures. Remaining items will be removed unless you have made arrangements to save them by calling the office at 585-593-1541. The removal of these items will be helpful to the groundskeeping staff as they continue the collection of autumn leaves.  If arrangements have been made with the staff, items will be held until November 12, 2024.  After that date they will be discarded.  We understand these items may be meaningful, however it is important for the ease of maintaining 36 acres and over 9,000 graves that we enforce the Rules and Regulations of the cemetery which state in part:

“The Woodlawn Cemetery Association reserve the right to remove all flowers, wreaths, or other decoration from graves as soon as they become unsightly.

As a reminder for next Spring, we would like to emphasize no in-ground planting of any kind is allowed in the cemetery.

If you have any questions, you may call the office at 585-593-1541.
