As we transition into fall, our excitement for seasonal activities begins to grow! Highlights of this time include fall festivals, delicious food, pumpkin patches, football, and the Allegany Artisans Studio Tour!
The Allegany Artisans Studio Tour is an annual collaborative event showcasing artisans with a wide range of styles, tastes, and traditions, working with materials such as clay, wood, metal, fiber, jewelry, paint, glass, paper, wax, and more. This year marks the 36th anniversary of the Artisan Tour, featuring 33 artisans across 28 studio locations for 2024! While many artisans participate long-term, there are always new faces to discover.
Not all studios will be open on Friday, but every location will welcome visitors on Saturday and Sunday. For detailed information about each studio, you can check the Allegany Artisan website or the tour booklet. The tour typically takes place during the peak of fall, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful Allegany County countryside as you travel between studios.
This year’s tour dates are:
Preview in certain studios on Friday, October 18th, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All studios are open Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 20th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the Studio Tour, you’ll find all of us in our studios, eager to meet you and provide demonstrations, exhibits, and refreshments. Witness artisans showcasing their craft with the elegance and expertise gained through experience. Enjoy the charm of shopping the traditional way, knowing the hands that created your artistic treasures.
This year, while visiting each studio, you can enter a drawing for $50 worth of gift certificates. Each studio visit allows you one entry, so the more studios you visit, the greater your chances of winning. Even if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out to any member throughout the year for unique gifts and custom commissions. Some visitors only take a single day to explore, while others spend the entire weekend in the countryside, soaking in the scenery, visiting studios, dining locally, and enjoying accommodations! It’s the perfect autumn escape.
