All are welcome at the Grace United Church at 3pm
By Mary Gardner-Ruch
As our neighboring communities continue to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Debby, area musicians have been practicing for a benefit concert planned for September 29th in Wellsville. The brainchild behind this concert is Nettie White, a member of Grace United Church, where the concert will be held. According to Nettie, she was sitting in church when the idea came to her. She is known for bringing musicians together at The Palmer in Cuba, NY, and at her home on Amity Lake.

Children, college students, and area residents have been involved in efforts to raise money for the flood victims. This is one more way to help. The concert is themed, “Peace, Love, & Tie Dye”. Kim Toot, a member of Grace United, shared with me her concerns over the division in our country. She quoted lyrics from the Youngbloods, “Come on people now. Smile on your brother. Everybody get together. Try to love one another, right now.” This concert hopes to bring people together for a common cause.
Performing on Sunday will be the following musicians” Paul Psathos, Casual Remix, Jim Knapp, Tom Kailbourne, Devon Reagan, Scott Warner, Steve, Spry, and Grace United Musicians. Wear your best tie-dye and come to Grace United located at 289 North Main Street in Wellsville at 3:00 pm. Your donations will help the Greenwood Fire Department recover from the strain on their equipment pumping out flooded homes.
