Houghton Academy starts a diverse and exciting year

Houghton Academy entered its 141st year of Christian education in mid-August. The campus is alive with energy as more students join the community each week. Houghton Academy is proud to offer open enrollment. As of today, 103 students have officially enrolled, alongside 37 dedicated faculty and staff. Together, these 140 individuals—and counting—are united by a powerful commitment: to LIVE authentically, LEARN deeply, LEAD globally, and LOVE boldly, all to the glory of God.

There is exceptional faculty and staff at Houghton Academy. This year’s faculty represents a vibrant diversity of cultures, with teachers from around the world (i.e., Uganda, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, China,  Ecuador, Native American) enriching the students’ educational experiences with global perspectives. Their collective backgrounds span multiple continents, and they are united by their dedication to fostering a dynamic, inclusive learning environment.

Fall sports are up and running. The boys Varsity soccer team is off to a great start. JV and Varsity girls volleyball teams are enjoying experienced players and an abundance of new players. 

There is early release Thursdays which gives students the opportunity to enjoy one of many clubs offered at the Academy. These clubs include Art, Carpentry, Culture, Drama, Esports, Film, History, Math, Model UN, Table Tennis, and Tech/Sound Crew. Other evenings give way to the possibility of Badminton, Recorder Ensemble, Drama, Ultimate Frisbee, Fitness, or Worship Team. Come join our diverse, fun, and college-preparatory Academy!
