NWS: Wildfire smoke returns to Upstate NY

Air quality should remain safe for most

From the US National Weather Service Buffalo NY

Smoke from wildfires out west will drift overhead the next couple of days, though much like our temperatures, remain elevated. Little to no impacts at the surface, but expect a hazy or milky looking sky at times. Highs in the 80s for most locations by this afternoon, with mid/upper 70s across the hilltops.

Air quality indexes are expected to move from “Fair” to “Poor” as we move into the weekend. Air Quality Index(AQI) measurements are expected to remain in the low ranges of “Poor” quality.
