NY State Senator Tom O’Mara and Sheriff Allard accompanied the Congressman

From the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office,

Sunday morning, Sheriff Allard escorted Congressman Langworthy, State Senator O’Mara and local Steuben County officials on a tour of the communities that were ravaged by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby including the Towns of Canisteo, Woodhull, and Greenwood, the Jasper-Troupsburg High School, and the Jasper sewage plant.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the residents of these communities, and as always, we will continue to provide for their public safety needs as they rebuild. #SouthernTierStrong

From Congressman Langworthy:

“This morning I joined state and local officials in Steuben County to tour the communities that were ravaged by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby—some of the worst hit were Canisteo, Woodhull Greenwood, the Jasper-Troupsburg High School, and the Jasper sewage plant.

It was heartbreaking to see the destruction and hear from residents who rebuilt after Tropical Storm Fred in 2021, only to face devastation again. This is a time for all of us at the federal, state, and local levels to come together to fight for a FEMA disaster declaration—including individual assistance. The people of the Southern Tier are independent, resilient, and tough as nails, but now is the time they need our help, and we must make sure they are not forgotten. #SouthernTierStrong
