Office of Emergency Management – Livingston County, NY

Today at 12:54, as the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby passed through NYS, the Livingston County Special Operations Team (LCSOT) was requested into Steuben County via direct deployment call.

LCSOT responded a Type III Swiftwater Rescue Team with numerous additional support personnel and was assigned to Canisteo Fire for evac/rescue operations. Livingston County EMS ALS 6287 and RSI 6261 integrated with LCSOT for dedicated responder medical support.

Throughout, LCSOT would assist with strategic house evacuations and securing utilities in areas of high water, as well as respond to multiple emergencies involving people and vehicles in high water.

A great job by all in an extremely difficult situation.
