Heat Advisory for Allegany County in effect from noon June 18 until the evening of June 20

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90’s

From Allegany County,

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Allegany County. The Heat Advisory remains in effect from 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024.

During Extreme Heat, please take caution and observe appropriate work/rest cycles by following these tips:

  • Drink plenty of fluids but avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks
  • Stay out of the sun as much as possible and find shady areas
  • Stay in a cool location
  • Check up on and stay connected with relatives and neighbors
