Wellsville Track and Field: Sophmore Xavier Scott wins Section V title, breaks school record

Kaylee Oswald wins shot put title, JJ Howard wins long jump, triple jump, and high jump titles

Congratulations to Xavier Scott on winning a Sectional title in the 110 High Hurdles. Xavier won in a school record time of 15.08 seconds breaking Ian Cannon’s record of 15.42 seconds (2005). X has qualified to compete in the NYSPHSAA Track and Field Championship Meet on June 7 & 8 in Syracuse.

We asked “X” about his new school record and his reaction was perfect: “It was fun!”

Congratulations to Kaylee Oswald on winning a sectional title in the shot put. She won with a winning throw of 38’ 9 3/4”. She has qualified to compete in both the shot put and disc at the NYSPHSAA track and field championship meet on June 7 and 8 in Syracuse.

Congratulations to Jayvontay Howard on winning three Sectional titles tonight in Bath. JJ won the Long Jump on his fourth and final jump, won the Triple Jump on his first jump and won the High Jump on fewer misses clearing 6-3. Jayvontay is the first Wellsville boy to win three individual sectional titles in school history. He will be competing in the State Qualifier meet at Newark next Saturday with hopes of reaching States.
