From ACCORD,

On May 23rd, 2024, ACCORD is hosting its’ second Community Forum for 2024.  Poverty and Food Insecurity: Addressing the Issues Impacting Our Communities will take place from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Cuba First Baptist Church on 17 South Street in Cuba, NY.

The event will feature a panel of community members with firsthand knowledge on living with less than enough to make ends meet.  ACCORD will present data and information on current trends and the evening will end with open discussion on the issues and community solutions.

ACCORD’s first Community Forum, Housing for All, conducted in partnership with Ardent Solutions and Clarity Wellness Community, happened in Wellsville, NY on February 15, 2024. This event ended with a lively discussion on the housing shortage in our area, particularly the serious impact it is having on vulnerable populations. The May 23rd event in Cuba will include updates from the Housing Forum and community members will have the opportunity to suggest topic ideas for the next Forum.

The event is free and will include light refreshments.  All Allegany County residents welcome and if you bring a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Cuba food pantry, you can win an exciting door prize.

ACCORD’s Community Forums are possible, in part, through the support of the Health Foundation of Western and Central New York.
