Matteson and Fry lead the graduating class

Holden Matteson, son of Bret and Erica Matteson of Whitesville, NY, was named Valedictorian of the graduating class of 2024 with a grade point average of 99.63%. In the fall of 2024, he plans to attend St. Bonaventure University majoring in Literary Editing and Publishing.
Holden’s activities in high school include National Honor Society, Student Council, DECA, Youth Mentoring, Scholastic Challenge, Yearbook, Chess Club as well as All-County, Area All-State and All-State for chorus and band.
In the community, he is a junior member of American Legion Post 702 – Sons of the American Legion Squadron. Holden volunteers as a Jr. Instructor at AKT Combatives Academy where he is also a high green belt sport jujitsu student and competitor.
He received the St. Bonaventure University Bonnie Scholarship Award, Alfred University Scholars Award, University of Rochester George Eastman Young Leaders Award, RIT Business and Leadership Award, National Rural & Small Town Recognition Award.
Grace Fry, daughter of Melinda and Jason Fry of Whitesville, NY, was named Salutatorian of the graduating class of 2024 with a grade point average of 96.95%. In the fall of 2024, she plans to attend St. Bonaventure majoring in Nursing.
Grace’s activities in high school include National Honor Society, Student Council, Varsity Soccer and Basketball, Yearbook, Chess Club and Wellness Committee.
In the community, she has volunteered for Community Clean up days, is involved in Youth Group and has helped organize a Red Cross blood drive.
She received the St. Bonaventure Bonnie Scholarship Award and the University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award.
