The Wellsville YMCA will be hosting a charity golf tournament at the Wellsville Country Club on Saturday, June 15th with a shotgun start at 1:30 pm. Public registration is now open for this 4-person scramble event.  The day will also include a clam bake dinner, basket raffle, and golf-related challenges and games.

“I can’t believe it’s been three years since our first event! Providing people the opportunity to spend time with friends, and loved ones is what we are all about. Whether it be on a golf course, at the gym, or in a classroom I can’t express my gratitude for our community and what they make possible for us each year,” stated Tyler Green, Associate Executive Director of the Wellsville YMCA.

All funds raised at the event will support programs, and child care at the Wellsville YMCA. This charity golf tournament will also help maintain a scholarship fund to ensure that no one is turned away from the Y due to the inability to pay.  In the first two years, the golf tournament has raised $16,000 for the Wellsville YMCA.  “The Wellsville Community is very generous, as proven by their unwavering support for our tournament over the past three years.  The Y is humbled by the generosity and by the support we receive for this event.  We are also very thankful to all the staff and volunteers that work tirelessly to put on this special day,” expressed Jeff Townsend, CEO of the YMCA of the Twin Tiers.

The event is made possible by sponsorships from local businesses.  This year’s sponsors areTim & Danielle Green, Kinley Contractors LLC, Gallagher Insurance Agency, Millennium Construction, Tim Shea Enterprises, Inc., and Genesee Valley Media.   “Gallagher is proud to support the YMCA and its mission to better our local communities. We have a new name, but the same local team in Wellsville, and we’re excited to continue supporting our community as we always have,” states Chase Tascone, Area Vice President of Gallagher Insurance.
