Genesee Valley Central School Announces Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Rizzo and Bigelow lead the class into the future

From Genesee Valley Central School,

Congratulations to the top achievers of the Genesee Valley Central School Class of 2024!! Meet the top of the class:

Jacob Rizzo, son of Jaci and Rich Rizzo, has been named valedictorian of the GVCS Class of 2024 with a grade point average of 94.99.

During his time at Genesee Valley, Jacob participated in basketball, baseball, and soccer. Beyond sports, he dedicated himself to community service, volunteering with various organizations including Rotary and Belmont Little League, and at GVCS PTO events, including setups for family picnics and Halloween Trunk or Treat festivities.

He is considering attending either Alfred State or SUNY Fredonia in the fall to pursue a major in sports management.

Kendra Bigelow, daughter of Jennifer and Bill Bigelow, has been recognized as salutatorian of the Class of 2024 with a grade point average of 94.88.

Kendra’s academic journey included enrollment in the New Vision Education Program. At Genesee Valley, she played on the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams, alongside extracurricular commitments such as yearbook, prom committee, and student council. Kendra contributed to her community through volunteer efforts at blood drives, cemetery cleanup, and assistance with the modified softball team. Additionally, she worked part-time at L’Italia.

Kendra plans to attend St. John Fisher University in the fall where she intends to pursue a major in inclusive childhood education with an extension in early childhood.
