From the Wellsville YMCA,

Join us for an unforgettable burst of fun, fitness, and vibrant colors! The Wellsville YMCA’s 4th Annual Color Run/Family Walk is not just a race; it’s a celebration of community, health, and happiness. The event will take place on May 4th, 2024 with a start time of 10:00 am at Island Park.  This 5K fun run/2-mile family walk is the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories, enjoy the outdoors, and promote a healthy lifestyle for the whole family. Whether you are a seasoned runner, a first-time participant, or just want to take a stroll in the spring air, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels.  The registration fees are $30 for runners and $20 for walkers, which includes a FREE event t-shirt.  Children 11 years old and younger are FREE.  Child size t-shirts are available for $10.

After completing the run/walk, join us for Healthy Kids Day® from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, also at Island Park! Healthy Kids Day® is the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. For over 30 years, YMCAs and their communities have hosted FREE community events aimed at inspiring kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the summer months and beyond.

The event will host many local vendors including the Allegany County SPCA, Amity Rescue Squad, Partners in Prevention Allegany County, Catholic Charities, Fidelis Care, Allegany County Department of Health, Shelby’s Handmade Creations, ACCORD Corp, Joyful Elegant Creations, ARC Allegany Steuben, Illustrated with Autism, Cooks Clothing and Accessories, D&D Hilltop Ranch, Little Dog Forge, and the list continues to grow.  FREE haircuts will be available thanks to volunteer, Jessie Davis.

From interactive games to nutritious snacks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.  So, grab your family & friends, lace up your running (or walking) shoes, and join us for a day of fun, laughter, learning, and healthy living.

“The Color Run and Healthy Kids Day event is one the most exciting and fun programs that our Y team puts on each year.” states Tyler Green, Wellsville YMCA Associate Exectuive.  “So many moving parts managed by dedicated staff and volunteers make this event possible. I can’t thank everyone enough for participating and making this event one to remember. Our goal is to make this a staple event in the Wellsville Community and imprint lasting memories for families for years to come. Again, thank you all and see you on May 4th!”
