We’ve never been shy about bragging that “Fassett Lane got us started.” Within a few weeks of launching the Wellsville Sun, Dan Peters and Butch Calcote reached out and wanted to support us. They immediately wanted to support our mission of keeping local news alive and putting all the great things about Wellsville into the proper light.

Just imagine the ride these guys have been on since making a life-changing investment in 2019. A pandemic hit within the first year!!! Building material costs have been like a roller coaster ride, riding the extremes of record demand and inflation.

Now, five years later, finally with some normalization of the industry, co-owner Dan Peters reflects on the first of many milestones:

“Fassett Lane Lumber has been in business for over 46 years. A change in ownership 5 years ago took place during a very uncertain time in our area. Siemans and K-mart closed their doors and a short time later Covid was introduced into our lives. We are very fortunate and proud to live in a community where people look out for each other and are the strength of our local economy. We are a community of strong faith and strong work ethic. Wellsville has many youth sports programs and offers several events to promote our area including the Balloon Rally ,Ridge walk ,Fishing derby, and Island Park Car Show. Wellsville’s commerce has improved with the Arvos manufacturing expansion, Runnings at Riverwalk, and the Kinley Corporation adding many new jobs to our local work force. Butch Calcote and I are very grateful for the customers that support Fassett Lane and other local businesses that create our community. Fassett Lane would also like to give a shout out to the Wellsville Sun for a great partnership keeping the world in tune with our regional events.”
