Addison mourns the loss of former school Superintendent Joe DioGuardi

DioGuardi had formally retired from the post March 26

From Addison Central School,

Members of the Addison Central Schools Community – At the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, the Board officially accepted the resignation of Superintendent, Mr. Joe DioGuardi, for the purpose of retirement and appointed current Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Mr. Jim Peiffer, to serve as Interim Superintendent for the remainder of the school year.

With sadness, the District shares with the community that Mr. DioGuardi passed away this morning, Friday, March 29th. Please join the ACS faculty & staff extending our deepest sympathies and most sincere condolences to Mr. DioGuardi’s family. The District is working with the GST BOCES and its Regional Crisis Team to have support available for students, faculty and staff who may need it when they return to campus next week.
