What is life without art ?  Our mission has always been to provide a place for professional artists, amateur artists, or even the happenstance artist to showcase that work.

In our digital world, being in the right place at the right time with a good phone camera can produce epic results.  We have featured hundreds of photos from all over Western New York, from famous photographers like John Kucko and talented amateurs like Mel Hunt or Doug Sciorra.

The Sun is also proud to offer an open door to creative writers, don’t miss the writing from Mary St. George about her love for Keuka Lake, that great read is on the Keuka Sun, click here.

Writing can certainly be an art form, so please tell the poet, playright, or storyteller in your life that we would love to publish that work.

Musicians and video artists!! This is the perfect place to show off and get noticed.  Teachers and students are encouraged to interact with us to bring the public attention and encouragement.

This is a mutually beneficial effort:  Readers really enjoy the revolving and new art that we present, it keeps our pages looking fresh.  Artists get noticed! Our network is growing and this is a perfect way to put your art in front of thousands of eyeballs.  We provide links to the artist homepage or catalog to allow reader interaction and sometimes sales.

The Keuka Sun is often graced by a lovely painter who spends time in New York City and Keuka Lake.  Ellen Bradshaw has allowed us to share some amazing paintings and they have caught the attention of possible buyers.  We do this to make our sites nice to visit and celebrate local art: We don’t sell or ask for commissions! Here is our upcoming feature by Ellen, check out her site for more Keuka Lake art but also some great NYC themed paintings.

While we have lots of great contributors to our effort on the Wellsville, Hornell, and Keuka sites…. art is endless, the glass can’t be filled up!  So consider this a call for more art!  Photos, poems, short stories, video, drawing, sculpture….. we actually just featured a great crochet artist!

Students, art teachers, parents: Your art is a priority.  If you have budding artist who would enjoy and benefit from a feature then please send that our way!!
