When the hatred toward Buffalo Bills’ kicker Tyler Bass started for missing a kick late in a playoff game, local artist Eric Jones was not pleased.
Bass missed a field goal with a few minutes left in a playoff game against Kansas City. Even if he made it, the Chiefs had quarterback Patrick Mahomes II to lead them to a go-ahead score with Taylor Swift cheering from the stands in Buffalo.
After the game, Bills quarterback Josh Allen made sure Bass knew he was supported and it was captured with a photo.
Eric Jones saw the photo of Josh Allen consoling the kicker with a hug going into the tunnel and wanted to make a snow sculpture.
Meanwhile, fans of the team, the Bills Mafia, were as upset with Eric, and donated to the Ten Lives Club, a charity Bass supported. The Club has saved the lives of tens of thousands of cats over the years and enhanced their lives.
As a result, Jones is recreating the iconic photo, shot by Joshua Bessex of the Buffalo News, in a sculpture that is 8-feet tall.
It is located at the cat adaption group facility on 3741 Lake Shore Road in Blasdell.
“Finding a location and having enough snow was an issue,” Jones said. “But Ten Lives Club made it happen and I can’t wait to share this with everyone.”
