Allegany Co. Democrats “Serving our Community” on National Day of Service

Ten locations in Allegany County are accepting donations

From the Allegany County Democrats,

Belmont, NY — This year, Alfred Area Food Pantry in Alfred is selected as the recipient of our Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service collection.

We invite everyone to contribute to this service project along with us. We’ve made it easy by establishing convenient early drop-off locations in ten communities across the county: Alfred, Andover, Angelica, Belmont, Bolivar, Canaseraga, Cuba, Rushford, Scio, and Wellsville.

Donations can be delivered to these locations through Sunday, January 14 at 5:00 p.m. Our volunteers will collect all donations and take them to the Alfred Area Food Pantry on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day — Monday, January 15th.

Message us on FB or Threads, email or text 585-610-4321 and we’ll share the address of the drop-off location nearest you. If transportation is a problem, our volunteers can pick up your donations. Let us hear from you!

Here is a list of items requested by the Pantry board:

  1. Coffee / Tea / Cocoa Mix
  2. Baking Mixes
  3. Soap / Deodorant
  4. Toothpaste / Toothbrushes / Mouthwash / Dental Floss
  5. Shampoo / Conditioner
  6. Feminine products
  7. Adult Incontinence Products
  8. Toilet Paper
  9. Donations by check made to “Alfred Area Food Pantry”

This is just one of the many ways local Democrats serve our community, in keeping with the Committee’s desire to protect and enhance the quality of life in the county.  To learn more, visit or follow us on Facebook or Threads.

The Allegany County Democratic Committee is the official governing body for the County Party, working toward broader representation by Democrats at the local, state, and national levels.
