Wellsville wrestling continues hot start with five wins at Arkport Duals on Saturday

The Wellsville wrestling team went 5-0 on Saturday to claim a division championship at the annual Arkport Duals.

Wellsville defeated Dansville, 60-15, beat Alfred-Almond 63-9 then Fillmore 60-12, downed Cal-Mum, 42-26 before finishing the perfect day with a tough 37-31 win over Bath-Haverling.

Easton Joyce, Paul Giovanniello Jr., Xander Outman and Gabe Black all went 5-0 for Wellsville.

Matt Ritter and David Clark each went 4-1 for the Lions.

“It was a great team effort and I’m proud of everyone who went out and wrestled for us,” said Wellsville coach Tyler Carman. “The boys wrestled really tough.”

Wellsville is home on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Arkport.
