WELLSVILLE – The public is invited to join the members of the Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society when they take a holiday tour of St. John’s Episcopal Church at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 13th.

This historical church is located at the corner of North Main Street and East Genesee Street and has been decorated for the holidays. Meet at the red, front door. Bill Nash, a member of the congregation, will be leading the tour.

The Episcopal Church was established in Wellsville in the 1860s. Its first home was located on upper Jefferson Street. In the 1870s the building was moved to its present site, but the building was destroyed by fire in1907. The Congregation rebuilt the church on the same lot.

The tour is free. Any donations should be given to the church. The Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13th for a brief meeting in the Monday Club Room at the David A. Howe Library.
