Wellsville, NY – Ruth S. Kling, 86, of 2907 Florida Avenue passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at home with family at her side. She was born March 17, 1937, in Renovo, PA the daughter of Willard and Myra (Raemsch) Stiles. On August 30, 1957, in Lock Haven, PA she married Richard M. “Dick” Kling who survives.

Ruth was raised in Lock Haven and was a 1956 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She began her career with Bell Telephone in Williamsport, PA, and continued with Bell Telephone after moving to Wellsville in September of 1957. She was later employed by Allegany County BOCES in Belmont, MITE-E-LITE Corporation in Wellsville, and was a computer operator for Alfred University, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the choir. She was also a member and past vice president of the Wellsville Lioness Club, and member and past vice president of the Jones Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving in addition to her husband Dick are seven children, Michael (Michele) Kling of Coker Creek, TN, Kathy (James) Yeager of Portville, Karen Overdorf of Wellsville, Linda (Michael) Marsh of Mrytle Beach, SC, Jeff Kling of Spartanburg, SC, Steven (Tracie) Kling of Fayetteville, NC, and James (Debbie) Kling of Wellsville, 17 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Wenker, a son-in-law, Ladd Overdorf, and a great-grandson, Bryson Hunt.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 470 N. Main Street in Wellsville. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm in church with Rev. Dr. Eric Ash Sr. presiding. The burial will be in Stannards Cemetery.
