State Police: Small plane makes emergency landing on Route 417 in Cattaraugus County

A 21-year old pilot from Maine was experiencing mechanical problems, no injuries or damage reported

On November 14, 2023, at approximately 4:55 P.M., Troopers out of SP Olean responded to State Route 417 in the town of Carrollton for a single engine plane making an emergency landing.  Investigation determined the single prop airplane was experiencing mechanical issues and the pilot and only occupant, Ethan M. McInotosh, 21 of Wilton, ME attempted an emergency landing on State Route 417. McIntosh landed the plane without damaging property or any injuries. The airplane was removed from the roadway.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board assisted in this investigation.
