By Andrew Harris

Multiple residents have wondered about an accident over the weekend at the intersection of Route 417/19 and West State Street, occurring on Saturday November 4 at 7:41pm according to police

Wellsville Police report that a Wellsville man was struck in the road and taken to the local hospital for evaluation. We asked the man how he was feeling today:

“I’m doing OK just some road rash with bruises on both elbows and a bruise on the kept side of my back.”

The driver was issued a ticket according to the report from police:

From the Wellsville Police Department,

“Police were dispatched to a car vs pedestrian accident at the intersection of the Arterial and W State St.  The investigation determined that the driver was making a left turn off of W State St onto the Arterial and did not see the pedestrian crossing the Arterial in the crosswalk.

He was transported to Jones Memorial Hospital by Wellsville Ambulance for a complaint of back pain. The driver was issued a traffic ticket for Failure to Yield the Right of Way to a Pedestrian in the Crosswalk.”
