Donald R Perrin, 89 – Deland, FL, formerly of Wellsville, NY, passed away on Monday, November 6, at Advent Health Deland. He was born January 3, 1934, to the late Edith and Benjamin Perrin in Dundee, New York. He is pre-deceased by his siblings and son Alan. On May 3, 1980, he married Prudy Goodnoe in Wellsville, NY. Between them, they had six children. Alan Perrin, deceased; Gary (Laurie) Perrin, Avon, NY; Bryan (Linda) Perrin, Bolivar, NY; Michele (Miv) Johnston, Bolivar, NY; Jay (Debbie) Clark, Deltona, FL; Susan (Larry) Skinner, DeLand, FL. From the six children, they have 16 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.
Through the years, Don was heavily involved with the Macedonia Lodge in Bolivar, NY, and the Ismalia Temple in Buffalo, NY. He had the honor of being the District Deputy Grandmaster of the Allegany District, New York State. During his time as a Shriner, he was a member of the Kart Corp and participated in many parades.
As the Meat Department Supervisor, Don retired from Bells Supermarket in 1998 after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time at their camp and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed friends, family, and many gatherings at the camp. In 2003, Don and Prudy relocated to Florida.
He was a fan of the FSU Seminoles and the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout his life. He loved working outside in his gardens and walking his Boston Terrier, Maggie, daily at the McDonald’s Plaza. He was most proud of watching his grandchildren grow into great adults. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to the service at Lohman Funeral Home, 935 E. New York Ave, Deland, FL 32724, on December 1, from 3:00 – 5:00. Persi Medina officiating.
