I am writing to endorse David Shields for the Councilman position for the Town of Alma. I have had the pleasure of knowing Dave for over 25 years, when he moved back to Alma with his family. I can confidently say he possesses the necessary qualities and skills to fulfill this position.
Dave was a past Councilman for 17 years while holding the Deputy Supervisor position for half the time he served. He has the knowledge and understanding of how a municipality should operate and many years of knowing Local and State laws to be followed.
As a citizen of Alma for over 20 years, I believe it is essential to elect leaders committed to improving our community and saving our tax dollars! Dave is willing to work tirelessly to keep our small town functional as it used to be. Dave would like to see the following operations be put in place to protect our citizens and our municipality:
- Policies and Procedures to be in place as required by law
- Updated Code of Ethics
- Emergency Plan in place
- Stop unnecessary spending to prevent the increase in property tax
I strongly urge you to vote for David Shields as a Write-In candidate in the upcoming November 7, 2023, election. I am confident that he will make a positive impact on our town. Please join me in supporting David Shields and electing him as Councilman for the Town of Alma, New York.
