WELLSVILLE, NY – The dedication ceremony of the Historic Village Clock is set to take place on Saturday, October 28 at 5 p.m. on the corner of Main Street and Jefferson Street, Wellsville.

The community is invited to attend the celebration of the historic landmark – bringing together the past, present and future of Wellsville.

The Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce (WACOC) and the Wellsville Development Corporation (WDC) worked the past year and a half to raise funds and facilitate the restoration of the clock by selling personalized tribute bricks and granite pavers.

Dan Higgins and the Higgins Family Trust donated the funding needed to refurbish the internal components of the clock and retrofit it with electronic works by White’s Clock and Carillon Northeast, Inc. The clock now chimes on the hour and can play songs.

“This has been an amazing project to witness from start to finish,” said Bruce Thomas, WACOC Executive Director. “As we started to receive heartfelt donations to honor family names and businesses during the brick and paver sales, the community’s pride of being part of this historic landmark in Wellsville was blatantly obvious. I am glad we were able to breathe life back into the clock that has a place in so many people’s memories of Wellsville.”
