Terrible highway crash in Maryland kills two Wellsville residents


Two other Wellsvile residents are in serious condition

Reports of a tragic accident on I-81 near Hagerstown Maryland this morning confirm that one of the vehicles was carrying four Wellsville residents. Two of the four perished in the crash and the survivors are reported to have been rushed to local hospitals in serious conditions.


As reported by News Channel 11 WBLA, Alicia Cornell and Wes Merrick were identified as fatalities in the crash by the Maryland State Police.


Based on local information, the victims of the crash were traveling to an annual motorcycle event with their respective spouses. While unconfirmed, they are in serious condition in local hospitals by WBAL:

“Two other passengers in the SUV were injured — the front-seat passenger was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore and a rear-seat passenger was taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.”
