A Wellsville man who violated an order of protection fled from the New York State Police today and a search has gone on for over eight hours.
State Police called the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department for assistance finding the male. There was a large presence of state police vehicles in the town and village today.
“They are looking for someone who fled in the woods and violated an order of protections,” said Allegany County Sheriff’s Department Undersheriff Walter Mackney. “He is not considered a danger to the community at this point.”
The search in Wellsville took place on Madison Street, East State, parts of Main Street and Maple Avenue and Lee Place.

A name of the person has not been released. The incident took place in the town of Wellsville which is in the state police jurisdiction.
“They asked for our drone to visually located him if possible,” Mackney added.
