Allegany Arts Summer 2023 program starts July 1 at the Lavender Festival

See the full summer schedule of events and winners of the “Community Creators” award

The Opening Day kick off event will be held on July 1st, 2023 at the Lavender Festival at the Park Circle in Angelica from 9am – 4 pm. Youth and parents will be able to check out all of the artistic opportunities available, make art, get information on where to sign up for future classes throughout Allegany County, and learn more about the Arts Access Pass Program. Drawing, painting, printing, book arts, music and dance are among the offerings at venues including local Libraries, parks, dance studios and at the Fountain Arts Center. 
Coordinated by Susan Doran of the Belvidere Cornerstone, the Angelica Free Library is the 2023 sponsor for Free Art For Youth program based on the Allegany Arts Association annual summer youth activities available to young creators in Allegany County.

Watch for future free arts programming for local youth and adults to be provided through the on-going unified efforts of local participating host sites, libraries, the Belvidere Cornerstone, the Belfast Organization for Artists, the Arts Council for Wyoming County, the Tri-County Arts Council,  the Allegany County Office for the Aging, the Allegany County Senior Foundation, the ASI; Arts Access Pass Program, and funds from local community sponsors. 
2023 COMMUNITY CREATORS STIPEND 
Participation in the arts unifies communities and improves individual wellness.
 
By a unanimous vote of the AAA Board, this Community Creators stipend is being awarded to local arts groups and organizations who have demonstrated continued dedication to implementing creative arts practices and cultural activities for youth and adults in Allegany County, NY. This award will be distributed to the selected recipients via USPS at the end of June 2023.
 
The community is blessed to have such a diverse creative community sharing resources and inspiring cultural awareness in our rural region. Though it would not be fiscally possible to provide this award to everyone serving the arts in our area, we appreciation all that you do. Thank you for your dedication to the arts in Allegany County.
