The search continues for a new Executive Director of the “Hart Comfort House”

Longtime executive plans retirement from a “dream job”

Scott Swift has provided a dignified final day and peaceful death for terminally ill residents of the “Hart House,” since 2011. Thousands of lives have been impacted by the work of Swift and the Comfort House of Allegany County. Several of my family members have taken their final breath at the house and it is hard to describe the experience as anything other than “comfort.”

The founders of the Hart House, Scott, and the many dedicated volunteers have created a community that supports the simple mission: To provide residents and thier families with the most peaceful passing possible by focusing on kindness and compassion. They excell at the mission and have become an almost essential service to the community.

Continuing that tradition is going to require a new leader though, Scott Swift is retiring after a long career in nursing and serving the Hart House. The Wellsville non-profit is seeking that special person to replace a very special executive director. As you can see in the picture, the job is dynamic, ranging from providing pallative care to accepting donations from witches! Duties:  Direct and manage daily operations of the Hart Comfort House.  Provide leadership; coordinate care of residents; oversee per diem nurses and volunteer coordinator, volunteers, and night caretakers.

Report: Directly to Board of Directors of CHAC

Qualifications:  RN with NYS license.  Experience in palliative care with supervisory background, with computer proficiency.
