Type of Incident: Murder 2nd degree (Felony) and Manslaughter 2nd degree (Felony)

Details of Incident:
Deputies responded to the scene of a motor vehicle vs pedestrian crash on Seneca Ave, in the Town of Olean. The investigation revealed that a pickup truck being driven by Scott Carlson struck and killed a 42 y’ear old female from Olean and then fled the scene. After a short investigation performed by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Scott Carlson was located and arrested for Murder in the 2nd degree, and Manslaughter 2nd degree. Carlson was taken into custody and arraigned in the City of Olean Court by Judge DiCerbo and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of bail.
Additional charges are pend_ing upon the completion of the investigation by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, the Crash scene investigation unit, and the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s office.
