Local police report several felony arrests

All those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in court

State Police arrested a Wellsville man on eight seperate charges, both misdemeanor and felony. Bryce A. Schuld, 36, was arrested for the following misdemeanor charges:

  • Criminal Contempt, Disobeying a court order
  • Acting in a manner injurous to a child
  • DWI 1st offense
  • Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs

Schuld was also charged with three felony charges of Aggrevated DWI with child, 1st offense

It is unclear if Schuld was held or released for a future court date.

Wellsville Village Police arrested Bryent A.K. Scotchmer, age 29 of Scio, charging him with Criminal Mischief 3rd (Class E Felony). The charge stems from an incident that took place on North Broad Street in March. Scotchmer was transported from the Steuben County Jail to Wellsville. Scotchmer was also arrested on a Bench Warrant for failure to appear in Wellsville Village Court on March 21st on previous Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest charges. Scotchmer was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Scotchmer was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $1,500.00 cash bail or $3,000.00 property bond or $6,000.00 partially secured bond. Scotchmer is due back in Wellsville Village Court on May 16th at 4:30 pm.

Monday May 1, 2023

A Wappingers Falls man was arrested by the NY State Police for possessing and promoting child pornography in the village of Alfred NY. Christopher D. Turner, 19, was charged with two counts for each these felony crimes against children:

Possession of an obscene sexual performance by a child

Promotion of a sexual performance by a child

Turner was reported HELD by authorities.

A Hinsdale man was arrested and released to appear in court for multiple crimes in the village of Portville. Scott D Pierce, age 52, was arrested for a felony charge of Burglary of a Dwelling and two additional misdemeanor crimes:

May 2, 2023

State Police arrested a Buffalo man for a felony crime committed in the town of Belfast NY. Mitchell S Smith, 26, was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property of over $3000 in value.

It was unclear if Smith was held or released by the NY State Police.
