Darryl R. LEWIS, 75, of Whitesville, NY, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.  Born March 8, 1948, in Wellsville, he was the son of Dorr F. and Loretta A. Hunt Lewis.  He was a 1966 graduate of Whitesville Central School.  

A Vietnam Veteran, he served honorably with the US Army from 1969 – 1971.  He was employed by National Fuel as an operator.  Darryl was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702 in Wellsville, a life member of the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of the Independence Rescue Squad. 

Surviving are:  his life partner of 41 years, Ilene “Punky” Jacobs Ordway of Whitesville;  a son, Chris (Serena) Ordway of Versailles, KY;  three grandchildren, Jillian, Kristyn, and Savannah;  a sister, Diane Osgood of Wellsville;  two brothers, Dean (Maureen) Lewis and Duane Lewis, both of Whitesville;  nieces and nephews, Monica (Scott) Acomb, Jaime Lewis, Kris Osgood, and Kerri (Greg) Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Carl Osgood. 

A private graveside service will be held in Whitesville Rural Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Jan Talbett for the Whitesville Veteran Memorial.  Arrangements are under the direction of OLNEY-FOUST Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY.
