Michael T. Baldwin Reports

An early morning fire destroyed a Town of Allen home in Allegany County. Fire crews were dispatched around 5:40 a.m. to a fully involved house fire at 4150 County Road 15A. According to radio reports, a roof had collapsed on some of the occupants but everyone escaped the burning home, described by county tax records as manufactured housing.

Volunteers from six fire departments were called out, with firefighters from Short Tract taking the lead. RG&E was called to the scene to shut off power and an ambulance was on scene to evaluate the occupants. Allegany County Fire Coordinator and Emergency Manager Jeff Luckey called county dispatch and requested the Red Cross respond to the scene to assist two adults and three teenagers. Fire Investigators were requested to determine the cause.
