Based on the recent village meetings, police officers are paid $20 per hour with a $28 per hour holiday rate.
Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
The Village of Alfred is looking to hire a deputy clerk/treasurer. This position serves as assistant to the treasurer and clerk assisting and supporting all day-to-day operations of the Village Hall providing a wide array of complex, diverse, and confidential administrative and support services in a sensitive, demanding, and rapidly changing environment. Duties include, but are not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, water billing, property taxes, grant administration, registrar duties, responding to inquiries by phone, in person and email, processing mail, file maintenance, records management, customer service, public meeting agendas and minutes, public notices, and Village elections. Interested candidates should be knowledgeable in office and administrative practices and procedures, business communications and functions of public agencies, possess computer skills, excellent written and oral communication, ability to effectively manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities, represent the Village using tact, diplomacy, and discretion, possess an aptitude to learn, good organizational skills, an ability to work both independently and cooperatively with government officials, department heads, employees and the public. This is a part-time daytime position Monday-Friday. Salary commensurate with experience, education and qualifications. Position open until filled.
