The Election cycle becomes more active in Allegany County in August

According to the Board of Elections:

There is an Election set for August 23rd. It will be a Special Election (every registered voter is eligible) & a Republican Primary (just Republicans). They are on the same day & same hours. There will be 2 separate ballots. 1 for everyone & another for just Republicans. Both ballots are for the Congressional seat in the 23rd district. (REPUBLICANS CHOOSING TO VOTE IN BOTH ELECTIONS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO EXIT THE BUILDING THEN REENTER TO VOTE).

The one everyone can vote in is to fill the current congressional vacancy our district has. This seat will have an expiration of 12/31/22.

The Republican only primary is for choosing the Republican candidate that will appear in the November election to run for a full term beginning January 1, 2023.
