Captain Amie Feroleto is the first female captain to take the position

The State Police barracks in Amity has a new commander. Her name is Captain Amie Feroleto and she has been a Trooper for 20+ years. According to Troop A Public Information Officer Trooper James O’Callaghan,

Captain Feroleto has been a road Trooper, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Troop E (Canandaigua/Bath) Administrative Captain and has been assigned with the Internal Affairs Bureau. Her new and formal title is Troop A Zone 4 Commander, which means she covers all the stations in Allegany and Cattaraugus counties. O’Callaghan said, “basically she is two sheriffs in one.”

It is widely believed that she is the first woman to command a barracks in Zone 4. According to her LinkedIn profile, before becoming a Troopers, she was a Human Resource manager at Six Flags in 2001. Captain Feroleto attended SUNY Geneseo, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.
