Rushford hasn’t hosted a convention in 92 years
Wellsville Fire Chief Kevin Fleischman elected President of convention
By Andrew Harris
Allegany County firemen and firewomen will be gathering at the Labor Day Grounds in Rushford NY to hold their annual convention. The event is open to the public, admission is free, and the word is BYOB.

The three-day event is more than a meeting of local firefighting companies, having a good time has always been a priority. Firefighters play games, lots of them: Hose bowling, water ball, truck rodeo, broomball, and other contests are a big part of the convention.
Don’t forget live music and great food. “Off the Wagon” will be playing on Friday night at 8pm and “Nip and Tuck” will get the boots scootin’ on Saturday evening. Food vendors will be on the grounds all three days of the convention.
Bring the kids!! Nothing beats a young kid looking up to a seasoned firefighter and this convention has plenty for the kids. The whole family will enjoy the crowd, the entertainment, and learning more about the many local heroes who protect our communities.
