Lynn F. McAllister, Olean, formerly Whitesville

Lynn F. McAllister, of Olean, passed away on Saturday (June 18, 2022) after a recent illness.

Born July 22, 1955 in Wellsville, he was the son of Francis and Ruth (Halsey) McAllister.

Lynn graduated from high school in Whitesville and was a lifelong “Whitesville Blue Jay” fan.  He took great pride in his family and his hometown.  On his own, and for his own enjoyment, Lynn would keep statistics of each Blue Jay game in both boys and girls basketball and soccer, including individual stats for each team member.

He had been in supervised living by the loving family of caregivers at Intandem in Olean and worked at SubCon Industries in Olean for over 30 years.

Lynn enjoyed visiting his family and friends in Whitesville, and was also a fan of big game hunting, fishing, and stock car races. 

He is survived by a sister Cindy Hesdon of Philadelphia; a brother Larry McAllister of Philadelphia, a sister-in-law Rita McAllister; a brother-in-law Jim Greenberg, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Timothy McAllister, Kim McAllister and James McAllister.

There will be a visitation on Friday from 10am until noon at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean.  Visitation will continue Saturday (June 25, 2022) from 9am until 11am at the Whitesville Methodist Church, 446 Main St., Whitesville.  A funeral service will begin at 11am in the church.  Rev. Kim Howe will officiate.  Burial will follow in Whitesville Cemetery.
