Wellsville has a full day of festivities, including parade
Scio school band, color guard will march with veterans in parade
By Andrew Harris
In Wellsville, our Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion does a great job of leading the community in honoring those lost at war. The Legion and auxiliary groups are the driver behind a day of remembrance and celebration of our freedoms. Here is the day planned and they hope the entire community will join them:

Retired US Army Major Jack Kinney contacted us to make sure everyone knows about the plans in Scio NY, to honor the holiday. He and other Scio veterans are in search of fellow ex-service members who would like to march on Monday.
” We go to the Catholic cemetery at 9am then the Knights Creek Cemetery at 9:30 and the parade starts at 10:00am with services in front of the school then in front of the Library then on to Fairlawn Cemetery.”
Kinney reports that the Scio school band will be marching along with the color guard and firing squad.
Please meet at the Scio Fire Station at 8:30 am. Contact Major Kinney Ret. 585-593-4891 with any questions.
