Ian M. Jones, 1st Assistant District Attorney is prosecuting two serious cases

Defendant’s Name:  Anthony J. Gorse

Address:  Rushford, New York        

Charges:      Aggravated Cruelty to Animals (felony);
Burglary 1^st degree (B violent felony);
Criminal Contempt 1^st degree (E felony);
Grand Larceny 3^rd degree (D felony);
Criminal Mischief 2^nd degree (D felony)             

Court Appearance Date:  May 16, 2022

Proceedings:  Anthony J. Gorse was arraigned on 5 felony charges following an incident in the Town of Rushford on May 12, 2022. The People, represented by 1^st Assistant District Attorney, Ian M. Jones, argued that the defendant should be held on bail based on a number of factors, including the nature and severity of the charges. Bail was set in the following amounts:  $100,000 cash, $200,000 insurance company bond, and a 1 million dollar partially secured surety bond. The next appearance in this case is scheduled for June 6^th in Rushford.

Address:  Bolivar, New York        

Charges:      Burglary, 1^st degree (B violent felony);
Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 4^th degree (A misdemeanor);
Menacing, 2^nd degree (A misdemeanor)              

Court Appearance Date:  May 18, 2022

Proceedings:  Michael McDonald was indicted by a grand jury for 3 separate charges, with the top count being a B violent felony.  Mr. McDonald is accused of illegally entering an apartment last December in the Village of Bolivar while armed with a rifle.  This matter was presented to the grand jury by 1^st Assistant District Attorney, Ian M. Jones.
