Public Budget Hearing at 5:30 pm, board meeting to follow

By Andrew Harris

The Village of Wellsville officials will have double duty on Monday. The normal monthly meeting will be held after a public hearing “for 2022-23 Budget questions.” That public hearing, required by law, and its designated purpose is somewhat in question. A search of the Village of Wellsville website and a google search show no mention of the village of Wellsville 2022-23 budget. The Town of Wellsville 2022-23 budget is posted on the TownofWellsville.org.

Village officials were contacted in search of the document but information wasn’t clear. According to Trustee Mike Roeske, hard copies of the budget have been available at the village office. Roeske noted a 1.5% increase in the budget with noted increases in disposal service. The sewar budget is increasing slightly and the tree committee is receiving an increase.
