Sandra E. Walsh, 83, Alma


Sandra E. Walsh, 83, of 5696 Hogbrook Hill Road, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 in her home surrounded by her children. She was born in Wellsville on June 21, 1938 the daughter of the late Curtis D. and Namoi (Scott) Moreland. On June 14, 1958 in Scio, she married the love her life and childhood sweetheart, David W. Walsh, who predeceased her in April of 2021.

Sandy was a graduate of Scio Central School. She was employed at Jones Memorial Hospital, Key Bank, Fleet Bank, and Brown & Stout Insurance for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Scio. She loved the outdoors, espeically her flower garden that she maintained for over 30 years. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her husband and children, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by: two sons, David (Melissa) Walsh and G. Scott (Theresa) Walsh; a daughter, Jenae (Chris Shuttleworth) Austin; nine grandchildren, Jessica Walsh, Joshua Walsh, Heather (Matt) Gaynor, Jeremy (Emily) Walsh, Katie (Kyle) Baldwin, Roy Austin, Derek Austin, Matthew (Emilie) Austin, and Lacey Shuttleworth; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Kenzell, Eleanor, Braddock, Quniton, Griffin, and Bennett; a brother, James G. (Janice) Moreland; two sisters-in-law, Diana (Jerry) Hillard, and Adele (John) Walsh; and several nieces and nephews.
