Sandie White Taber of 16 Pike Street, Belfast, NY passed away after a brief illness on November 18, 2021 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, PA. She was born on March 8, 1954, in Cuba Hospital, to the late William and Patricia White of Little Genesee, New York. She married the love of her life, Tom Taber, on October 28, 1972 in Belfast. They were inseparable during their 49 years of marriage. She traveled all over the east coast with Tom as he raced various dirt track circuits. No matter where Tom and Sandie traveled for racing, they always took their three girls with them. Family was always one of the most important things to her. She enjoyed being a wife and mother but her favorite thing was being a Grammy.

Sandie was a graduate of Bolivar Central School, class of 1972. She grew up on the hills surrounding Horse Run Road in Bolivar, NY. She was always a force to be reckoned with. If you told her she couldn’t do something, she was the first to prove you wrong. She loved anything that went fast and was shiny.

Sandie’s pride and joy were her 3 beautiful little girls. Raising her girls was her life. While her girls were young Sandie babysat local kids and held many waitressing jobs so she was able to be home with them. For many years she worked as a bank teller. Over the years she moved through the ranks at the bank from teller to bank manager.  In 2003 Sandie and Tom started the dirt sprint car racing organization called the Patriot Sprint Group. Sandie was a loyal civil servant. She was always a big supporter of the underdog. If someone was in need she was the first to try to help them out. While her girls were in school she served on the Belfast Central School board for many years. She also served on the Belfast Town Board. After leaving the bank she and her husband opened an Antique Shop in their hometown of Belfast, New York. Sandie lived the good life.  She relished the time she was able to work outside in her many flower gardens. She loved watching racing, spending time with her family, antiques, shopping online, watching her grandkids play sports, reading books and baking with her grandkids.

Sandie is survived by her husband Tom of Belfast; daughters Tricia (Troy) Ellsworth of Fillmore, Angel (Justin) Taber of Cornelius, NC, and Lindsey (Chauncey) Weaver of Belfast. Sandie was blessed with 6 grandchildren that she absolutely adored; Alex, Matt, Chris, Kylee, Emerson and Brinkley. She was also a momma to Trigger, the beautiful black shepherd she and Tom adopted this past year.

Sandie was predeceased by her parents, her in-laws and her favorite four-legged best friend Dela.

At Sandie’s request, there will be no services.
