Daniel Lee Little, 71, Bolivar

Daniel Lee Little, 71 of 593 South Main St., went to be with his Savior and Lord after an auto accident on Tuesday October 26, 2021.

Born February 12, 1950 in Salamanca, N.Y. He was the son of Vincent R. and Thakla (Rusty) Irene Gross Little. Daniel married Diane E. Mitchell on May 27, 1972 in Richburg, N.Y., Mrs. Little survives.

Mr. Little served in the U.S. Navy from November 1968 until August 4, 1972. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct medal, National Defense medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Vietnam Campaign medal, the NYS Conspicuous Service medal and TET Campaign medal. He really enjoyed attending his USS Tulare Ship reunions.

Dan was a graduate of Portville Central School, Class of 1968. After serving in the Navy he attended Olean Business Institute earning two Associate Degrees, one in Accounting and one in Computer. He also completed a home study course from Moody Bible Institute.

Dan was employed by Industrial Patterns in Bolivar, N.Y. and Dresser Rand in Olean, N.Y., as a patternmaker. He had also been employed by Telcove in Coudersport, P.A. He enjoyed mowing the Cuba Cemetery with his friend Terry Winchell for several years. He also liked deer hunting with his sons and grandchildren.

Dan was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church, Allegany, N.Y. and the 4 C’s Senior Citizens Club of Bolivar, N.Y.

Surviving are two sons: Nickolas (Aprille) Little, Bolivar, N.Y. and Nathaniel (CaSandra) Little, Bolivar, PA. Seven grandchildren: Madison Little, Andrew (Vickie) Blakeslee, Dawson Little, Kyle Jennings, Riley Jennings, Conner Little and Noah Little and a great grandson Kamdyn Blakeslee. He is also survived by a brother Alan (Marge) Little, Wellsville, N.Y., a sister Helen (David) Duhan of Great Valley, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Thakla Little, his wife’s parents, Edwin and Celia Mitchell and his brother Michael Little.

Friends may call the Schaffner Funeral Home, Monday November 1, 2021 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. Funeral services will be held immediately following with Pastor Alan Moravek presiding. A graveside military service will follow at the Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee, N.Y. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home, Inc. Bolivar, N.Y.
